Virtual Moving Day Program for Fourth Graders
The Summit Historical Society is working with community educators to teach students about the movement of people across Colorado from pre-history to 1870. Cultural groups studied include Ancestral Puebloans, Ute, Cheyenne Arapahoe, Hispanos, Mountain Men and Miners.
For four years we have engaged our local 4th graders in Moving Day, a program developed by History Colorado, our state historical society. This year the program is going virtual. The eight-part program will be available after Oct. 1. Email christy@summithistorical.org for workbooks and instructions on accessing.
