Ice Castles is scheduled to open Dec. 26
Ice Castles is an awe-inspiring, must-see winter phenomenon that brings fairy tales to life. The frozen attraction is located in six cities across North America. The experience is built entirely by hand using hundreds of thousands of icicles hand-placed by professional ice artists. The castles include breathtaking LED-lit sculptures, frozen thrones, ice-carved tunnels, slides, and fountains.
The attraction features ice-carved tunnels, fountains, slides, frozen thrones, and cascading towers of ice embedded with color-changing LED lights that twinkle to music at night.
Dillon Town Park offers parking spots nearby Ice Castle, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A large parking lot is located along Buffalo Street in front of the acre-sized ice castles. Another parking option is by Town Hall, which is within walking distance of Lake Dillon Drive.
Visitors to Ice Castles at Dillon Town Park should wear boots, as the walking surface of Ice Castles is made of crushed ice and snow. If you have small children, bring a sled to pull them on instead of bringing a stroller.
