With its early snow, long winter season, wildflower-filled summers and 360-degree views, Arapahoe Basin weddings are spectacular. Whether rustic, fanciful or elaborate, A-Basin is an ideal location for your special day. Black Mountain Lodge, home to most Arapahoe Basin weddings, is situated at 11,500 feet above sea level, and your guests, up to 200, will be transported to the venue by an express chair lift. Black Mountain Lodge interior design highlights include vaulted ceilings supported by raw-cut timber, towering windows that offer an unparalleled view of The Continental Divide and a spacious deck for the ceremony and hors d'oeuvres. Overall, it’s a flexible environment that makes planning easy since all festivities can take place in a single venue. When you and your loved ones begin to evaluate wedding photographers, be sure to ask if their portfolio includes shots of Arapahoe Basin weddings. There’s simply no lack of fantastic backdrops for a Summit County celebration, but A-Basin’s super high elevation offers a year-round mix of sun and snow fields, even in summer. A-Basin’s 6th Avenue Bar & Grill is a great site for rehearsal dinners with three separate event spaces.
Arapahoe Basin Wedding Accommodations
As a ski area and not a ski resort, Arapahoe Basin wedding parties must find accommodations elsewhere. But never fear, Summit County hotels and other accommodations are nearby. Keystone, just 5 miles away, offers condos and vacation rentals in its villages and lakeside area (which is particularly lovely in summer as an oversized, stocked pond, and in winter as a skating rink). Keystone also features large vacation rental homes and a ranch with a golf course and affiliated dining. Dillon is home to some of the county’s most affordable lodging, while Silverthorne accommodations range from hotels to large private homes that serve as vacation rentals. Breckenridge provides the largest variety of places to stay from on-mountain lodging and resort-style spaces to condos, cabins and vacation homes (both small and large). Both Copper Mountain and Breckenridge are a few minutes farther from A-Basin, but if your party wants additional places to ski conveniently between wedding festivities, these towns are a great place to start.
